The Retreat provides a palette of 35 lush, treed acres of mountain vistas, rolling meadows, and a year-round creek. The property features a vast array of terrains: thick forests, a natural wildlife habitat, exclusive views of the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness Area, direct access to San Isabel National Forest, and the scenic Arkansas River, just minutes away.

Winters bring to The Retreat the sparkling snow-capped mountains, white-cloaked evergreens, and Alpine adventures that illustrate the dream of Colorado living. Mountain Springs and Summers are green, breezy, and comfortable–alive with the movement of shimmering Aspen leaves, meadow grasses, and colorful wildflowers. Far from the light and noise pollution of cities, the night sky fills with stars and birdsong rises in the wind.  

Enjoy both the privacy of sweeping mountain acreage and access to the world-famous resorts at Breckenridge and Monarch Mountain. Buena Vista is the closest town, an easy eight miles south via US Hwy 24. The Ranch is 15 minutes to the regional airport.

Elk and deer licenses are issued through a state-wide lottery. The property is located in GMU 481. The current owner averages 4 Deer and 4 Big Game (Elk/Big Horn) tags seasonally; licenses can be sold at an average price of $2,000 each. The property is zoned for Recreation and a list of permitted uses can be found on the Chaffee County website, www.chaffeecounty.org. Hunting may be available to the new owner.

The Arkansas River, Colorado’s #1 rafted river, flows through the town of Buena Vista. The Arkansas River is surrounded by the towering granite walls of Brown’s Canyon. Both the Arkansas River and Brown’s Canyon have recently earned National Monument designation.

No matter the season or temperature outside,Buena Vista’s all-natural hot springs make this area a year-round destination. Enjoy hot springs after whitewater rafting, downtown shopping, alpine skiing, or any Buena Vista adventure.
